IDLdoc can be install and updated via the IDL Workbench. For those experienced in getting Eclipse plugins, the URL is

http://updates.idldev.com

If you want more detailed instructions, the following explanation should go through all the dialogs necessary to install IDLdoc.

To begin, select "Help > Software Updates > Find and Install..." from the menu. That should bring up a list of the update sites known by the IDL Workbench. The number of items in the list depends on what you have already installed.

Updates site dialog

Hiting the "New Remote Site..." button on the top right, should bring up the following dialog:

New remote site dialog

The name is not critical (something that you will remember), but the URL must be the same as shown.

After OK'ing this dialog, the idldev.com site should now appear in the list of remote sites. Make sure it is checked and hit the "Finish" button at the button of the dialog.

Next, a summary of the IDLdoc license (open source BSD-style license) will be shown. Make sure "I accept the terms in the license agreement." is selected and click "Next>" at the bottom to continue.

Click the "Finish" button on the bottom right of the dialog to begin the installation.

You will have to verify the feature by clicking on the "Install" button on lower left because the feature is not signed.
